The Witte Museum is proud to partner with the Brackenridge Park Convervancy (BPC) to present Family Traditions, an exhibition of photographs and words depicting the traditional week-long Easter celebrations in Brackenridge Park.

In 2011, the BPC invited Dr. Ricardo Romo, President of the University of Texas at San Antonio, to photo-document the Easter celebrations in Brackenridge Park. The final selection of photographs was chosen from more than 800 images taken between Good Friday and Easter Sunday. During the exhibition, a catalog of the photographs will be available for purchase at the Witte Museum Store. The Witte Museum is a natural partner for exhibitions of Romo's work; this will be his second show at the Witte after 2009's Small Town Texas.

The BPC was founded in 2009 with a mission to preserve and enhance Brackenridge Park's resources for the use and enjoyment of current and future generations. Documenting the park's unique resources and traditions, such as the week-long Easter celebration enjoyed by thousands, expands awareness of the park's role in the community and increases support for the park.
