Special Events: The Witte Museum is San Antonio's premiere museum of South Texas history, culture, and natural science. Located in Brackenridge Park, on the banks of the San Antonio River, the Witte is conveniently located only minutes from Downtown in a tranquil area of San Antonio and offers a unique setting for any special event.  The campus includes two auditoriums, a native plant garden, a courtyard with covered veranda lined by majestic oak trees, and several historic buildings from the Spanish Colonial period to the late 1800’s. 

The Witte has meeting and event spaces for groups of 10 up to 1,500 people.  There are several rental packages available that allow for both indoor and/or outdoor use.  The Witte also allows guests to rent the entire museum facility in the evenings for private events.  The H-E-B Science Treehouse offers a rooftop view overlooking Brackenridge Park.  The museum is the perfect setting for any special occasion that requires a distinctive and versatile location.

Daytime Hourly Rentals (during regular business hours):

The Prassel Auditorium can accommodate up to 200 people in the 3,300 square-foot area. The auditorium has a permanent stage with an excellent sound system.

The Memorial Auditorium is ideal for a smaller group (80 to 125 people). It also has a stage highlighted with track lighting.

Evening Rental (beginning after 6:00 p.m. daily for four-hour periods):

The Prassel Auditorium Package: The Prassel Auditorium has 3,300 square feet plus the adjoining veranda and courtyard area. It is equipped with a permanent stage, dance floor and audio/visual capabilities and a kitchen area conveniently located for the caterer. The auditorium opens to the foyer and main hallway of the museum, which are also included in this package. Security is provided with this package and a representative from the staff will be onsite for the duration of the event. Capacity: up to 250 people in the Prassel Auditorium and up to 1,200 people total using the Prassel Auditorium, veranda and courtyard.

The Memorial Auditorium Package: The Memorial Auditorium has 925 square feet. It is equipped with a stage and track lighting. Additional seating is available outdoors on the terra-cotta patio and in the picturesque Texas Native Plant Courtyard. Security and onsite Witte staff will be provided. Capacity: up to 125 people.

H-E-B Science Treehouse Package. The H-E-B Science Treehouse is a four-story, 15,000 square foot educational facility that includes hands-on science exhibits that appeal to all ages.  The rooftop offers a wonderful view of Brackenridge Park and the San Antonio River.
